1. Purchase Coins on Coinbase
Keep in mind that if you want to receive your coins right away you’ll need to use a credit card for the purchase. If you use a connected bank account it will most likely take 7 days for the coins to arrive in your account.
You can purchase either Bitcoin, Litecoin, or Ethereum, Coinbase is always adding more coins. I recommend Litecoin personally.
2. Transfer to GDAX
You have to go to gdax.com and finish setting up an account. If you have a Coinbase account then you should already have a GDAX account. You might need to finish verifying your identity if you have no already done so. As of writing, both Coinbase and Gdax are under heavy load so it might take awhile.
Once you’re in Gdax then you click “Transfer” and then “Deposit”. Click on the tab that says “Transfer from Coinbase.” This transfer is absolutely free.
3. Sign up for YoBit & get your deposit address.
First sign up for a YoBit account if you have not already done so. Log into your YoBit account.
Click on “Wallets” on the top menu.
Then click “Deposit” on the currency you want to transfer into YoBit. It’ll either be Bitcoin, Litecoin, or Ethereum. This will pop up an address with a mix of letters and numbers. Copy this address.
4. Transfer from Gdax to YoBit
Back in Gdax, you want to go to “Transfer”. Select the currency you would like to transfer. Find “Transfer to an external account” (though it might say something slightly different).
After you’re done, you should see a confirmation message.
5. If you don’t see your coins right away, be patient.
It can take up to an hour for some transfers to finalize. Do not panic if you don’t see your coins in YoBit right away. They will arrive, unless you did something wrong.
You should always take your time and be very careful when transferring cryptocurrency!
