Bitwalking is an Android and iPhone app that rewards movement with Bitwalking Dollars (BW$). These dollars can be used on the offers marketplace or on an exchange that accepts Bitwalking.
How does it work?
The app runs silently in the background throughout the day. As you generate movement, the app generates walking dollars (after verification that the movement is legit).
You use the BW$ on the marketplace to get free products/services, just like you would use regular money.
When downloading and running the app, make sure you grant it all permissions to accurately track your movement!
Does it really work?
Many users have reported successful earning of Bitwalking Dollars, but some complain that it takes too long to generate one.
The app is accessible to anyone who can generate movement – simple as that! You don’t need to be an advanced user or anything. Simply download, open, and start moving.
Can you make a lot of money on this app?
If you’re incredibly active, such as a daily runner, then you can definitely start making money. As of writing (June 2018) you can earn at most 3 Bitwalking Dollars per day, which is about 15 miles.
What kind of movement does Bitwalking track?
This is where the app differs from the similar app, Sweatcoin. While Sweatcoin rewards you for only walking/running, Bitwalking rewards you for a lot more: dancing, bike riding, spinning around in circles, etc. That means that more of your movement is tracked throughout the day.
Does Bitwalking pay users?
The Bitwalking app is merely the platform or framework on which to build incentivized fitness. Offer providers will be the ones who pay the users on the offers marketplace by accepting BW$ in exchange for products/services.
Bitwalking itself does not pay users, they only reward movement with walking dollars which can be exchanged for money from other third parties.
What is the future of Bitwalking?
The future looks very bright for both Bitwalking and other incentivized fitness apps. As the world of cryptocurrency continues to expand and advance, we’ll see that technologies such as Bitwalking fit quite nicely into other currencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Is it worth downloading and using?
Absolutely! It’s a very lightweight app that runs in the background; once you get it set up, you don’t have to do anything except generate movement. The app does the rest and rewards you BW$ which you can use on an exchange or the offers marketplace.
More information will be posted here as it releases. This is a new app so the creators are still getting it up to speed and released around the world.
